• Increase waste % for walls with many doors and windows.
• Standard wall heights: 8 ft (most residential — uses 92-5/8″ pre-cut studs); 9 ft (uses 104-5/8″ studs); 10 ft (custom-cut from 10 ft stock).
• Common header sizes: 2×6 for ≤4 ft openings; 2×8 for 4–6 ft; 2×10 for 6–8 ft; 2×12 or LVL for spans over 8 ft (consult tables).
